Wendy Sledd is the reigning Mrs. Kansas Achievement. Her title is based on her personal and professional achievements as well as community service work. Wendy's platform issue is the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation. Wendy has been involved with the organization for more than 25 years. Wendy captured the state title as Mrs. Kansas City and was selcted as a top six finalist for the national title. Wendy has an award-winning career as a broadcaster and journalist having interviewed former President Bill Clinton, General John Shalikasveeli, Secretary of State Madeline Albright, Miss America Heather Whitestone, and other dignitaries.
Wendy is married to Major Keith Sledd of the US Army. Together, they have one daughter, 19 year-old Jennifer, who is a former Miss Teen Texas Achievement. Due to multiple moves with the military, Wendy has also held the titles of Ms. Texas, Ms. Louisiana, and Mrs. Oklahoma.
